The role

Summary

Ramp is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead their AI Developer Experience (DevX) team, architecting tooling and infrastructure that enables hundreds of engineers to build software faster with AI. This role combines deep backend engineering expertise with AI fluency to drive developer productivity across the organization.

What you'll do

AI Ecosystem Leadership: Stay at the forefront of AI development ecosystem, evaluate emerging tools critically, and make strategic decisions about technology adoption
Platform Architecture: Build and own platforms that enable developers to offload work to AI and enhance AI performance for Ramp development tasks
Developer Productivity: Drive proficiency with AI coding tools and practices across the entire engineering organization
Feedback Integration: Gather developer feedback, identify friction points, and iterate on solutions that measurably improve developer velocity
Vendor Partnership: Grow AI vendor partnerships and serve as primary advocate for Ramp's engineering needs
Technical Ownership: Take full ownership of critical AI DevX systems while influencing broader AI strategy and engineering culture
Best Practices: Shape and evangelize best practices for AI-driven development that scale across the organization
