What you'll do.

Lead the design, development, and operation of backend services powering Satispay's consumer wealth platform, serving 6 million users. As Software Engineer III in the Consumer Wealth Domain, you'll own the complete feature lifecycle for savings and investment products using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS infrastructure. This role combines financial precision with modern software engineering practices, requiring 3+ years of backend development experience in scalable microservices environments with a passion for fintech innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Own Complete Feature Lifecycle: Design, build, test, and operate backend services for savings and investment products from initial technical design through production deployment, utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL to ensure reliability and maintainability
  • Build and Maintain Wealth Products: Develop core functionalities including the Invested Money Box, automated savings goals, and investment portfolio management systems, ensuring high availability, transactional consistency, and precision in financial calculations
  • Manage AWS Infrastructure and Architecture: Own AWS-based cloud infrastructure including EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, and Kinesis services, with responsibility for architectural improvements and seamless integration across wealth-related microservices
  • Leverage AI Tools for Engineering Excellence: Utilize AI-powered tools daily to write optimized code, accelerate root cause analysis, generate comprehensive documentation, and drive continuous improvements in engineering efficiency
  • Translate Financial Requirements to Technical Solutions: Convert complex financial requirements into scalable technical architectures, balancing rapid delivery speed with the extreme precision and data integrity required by wealth management systems
  • Drive Code Quality and System Reliability: Actively participate in code reviews, post-mortems, and refactoring initiatives; debug complex issues across distributed services; investigate production incidents and share learnings to continuously improve system health
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, UX, and other engineering teams to align technical solutions with business objectives, communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and promote engineering best practices

  • Java & Spring Boot Expertise

    Advanced proficiency in Java programming and Spring Boot framework with proven experience building production-grade backend services

    Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, and Kinesis; understanding of cloud-native application design and deployment patterns

Education

  • Backend Development Experience

  • FinTech or Payment Systems

Salary: €38,000 - €46,000 gross per annum
This range is set using objective, gender-neutral criteria for the role's core requirements. However, we do not believe in putting a ceiling on talent.
