The role

Summary

Solace is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build and maintain robust cloud infrastructure for their healthcare technology platform. The ideal candidate will be a versatile infrastructure expert who can design scalable, self-healing systems while enabling product engineering teams to deploy efficiently and securely.

What you'll do

Infrastructure Development: Build and enhance cloud infrastructure and application platform for Solace's healthcare technology ecosystem
Risk Management: Assess potential risks and impacts of changes to live production environments
Operational Support: Participate in on-call rotations and provide troubleshooting support for complex technological interactions
System Reliability: Design and implement autonomous self-healing processes to improve system resilience and minimize downtime
Cross-Team Collaboration: Serve as a technical resource for product and data engineering teams, facilitating knowledge sharing and technical growth

What we look for

Technical

Cloud InfrastructureExtensive experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable), including cloud landing zones and GitOps technologies like Terraform
Linux ExpertiseProficient in command-line interfaces and Linux system administration
NetworkingAdvanced understanding of network architectures including VPCs, subnets, routing, DNS, load balancers, and security protocols
ObservabilityExperience with monitoring tools like Datadog and OpenTelemetry for infrastructure and application performance monitoring

Education

Technical DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Startup EnvironmentProven track record of working effectively in fast-paced, dynamic startup settings
Infrastructure ScalingDemonstrated ability to build scalable infrastructure for web applications and data workloads
TroubleshootingStrong root cause analysis skills with ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under pressure
