The role

Summary

Wealthsimple is seeking a Senior Software Developer for their Platform Experience team, focusing on improving system reliability and enabling product teams to ship robust code. The ideal candidate will work across the full stack, contribute to platform primitives, and help maintain high standards of security and user experience in a dynamic fintech environment.

What you'll do

Production Issue Resolution: Partner with product engineers to diagnose, resolve, and prevent recurring production issues
System Ownership: Take end-to-end ownership of system components with focus on reliability and maintainability
Platform Tools Development: Contribute to platform tools and frameworks that enhance engineering reliability
Cross-team Collaboration: Work with Platform, Product, and Data teams to align technical decisions with client needs
Technical Standardization: Help establish and implement technical standards and best practices

What we look for

Technical

Programming LanguagesProficiency in Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, and/or Kotlin
System DesignExperience in designing scalable and reliable software architectures
InfrastructureUnderstanding of platform engineering and infrastructure optimization techniques

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred
Continuous LearningDemonstrated commitment to ongoing technical skill development

Experience

Professional ExperienceMinimum 6 years of software development experience
Platform EngineeringDemonstrated experience in optimizing platform systems
