Summary

Welltech is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a groundbreaking team reshaping wellness technology. The role involves developing a greenfield product with a focus on creating personalized, data-driven wellness experiences using Python and AWS infrastructure, collaborating across cross-functional teams to drive innovation in the health and fitness industry.

What you'll do

Greenfield Product Development: Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to develop a new data and multimedia-powered wellness product
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, content producers, data experts, and infrastructure teams
Technical Leadership: Mentor team members, lead product and engineering initiatives, and influence coding standards
Development Optimization: Drive implementation of iterative development practices to maximize experimentation pace while maintaining high quality
Engineering Excellence: Advocate for and implement best engineering practices, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability of team systems

What we look for

Technical

Backend DevelopmentStrong hands-on engineering background with expertise in backend systems
Database SkillsExperience with relational and non-relational databases
Cloud InfrastructureProficiency in AWS infrastructure (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SES, CloudFormation, CloudWatch)

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Domain Driven DesignProven experience in system design and building large-scale customer-facing products
Technical LeadershipTrack record of influencing technical direction and collaborating effectively across teams

PythonStrong programming skills in Python
