Summary

Zapier is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Growth Personalization Platform team, responsible for building sophisticated personalization infrastructure that powers contextual, data-driven product experiences across the entire Zapier platform. The ideal candidate will drive technical strategy, build scalable systems, and lead a team focused on enhancing user engagement through advanced personalization technologies.

What you'll do

Technical Strategy: Define and execute the technical strategy for the Personalization Platform, aligning technical solutions with business goals across Data, Product, and Growth teams.
Infrastructure Development: Lead technical execution of system design, architecture, and operational excellence for personalization and experimentation infrastructure.
Team Leadership: Develop and mentor engineering team through coaching, performance management, and professional development initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Data, Product, and Engineering teams to implement recommendation engines and user context APIs.
Innovation Management: Stay current with personalization and experimentation trends to ensure Zapier remains competitive in user engagement strategies.

Technical

Web TechnologiesDeep expertise in modern web technologies, including TypeScript, Python, Node.js, GraphQL, and Next.js
Personalization TechnologiesProven experience with recommendation engines, A/B testing platforms, feature flagging, and real-time data pipelines
System ArchitectureAbility to design high-throughput, low-latency systems using technologies like Algolia and edge computing

Education

Educational FlexibilityNo strict educational requirements; relevant experience and skills are prioritized

Experience

Engineering LeadershipMinimum 3+ years managing teams focused on personalization, experimentation, or growth platforms
Technical ContributionHands-on experience shipping production code and participating in technical architecture discussions
