The role

Summary

Zapier is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer for its Identity Platform team to design and maintain enterprise-grade authentication infrastructure. The ideal candidate will own critical authentication systems, build scalable identity solutions, and drive strategic architectural improvements across Zapier's multi-service platform.

What you'll do

Enterprise Authentication Infrastructure: Design and extend systems handling SAML SSO, SCIM provisioning, OAuth/OIDC flows, multi-factor authentication, and secure user sessions for large organizations
Cross-Service Authentication: Manage user session propagation and authentication context across multiple service architectures, ensuring consistency and performance
Enterprise Security Controls: Build APIs and systems for org-level authentication policy enforcement, including SSO, domain capture, and credential lifecycle management
Platform API Development: Create and maintain robust, backward-compatible authentication APIs and libraries consumed by internal engineering teams

What we look for

Technical

Authentication ProtocolsExtensive hands-on experience with SAML, SCIM, OAuth/OIDC, JWT in multi-tenant SaaS environments
Programming LanguagesProficiency in Python, Node.js, with ability to work across backend and frontend technologies
FrameworksExperience with Django, Fastify, React, and ability to navigate infrastructure tools like Kubernetes and Terraform

Education

Computer Science/EngineeringBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

Enterprise Identity SystemsProven track record of building identity systems at scale, understanding authentication protocols deeply
Platform ThinkingExperience building systems other engineering teams depend on, with focus on maintaining backward compatibility
