Summary

Deel is seeking a highly skilled Tech Lead for their global engineering team, focusing on full-stack and database expertise. The ideal candidate will drive technical strategy, lead through influence, and make impactful architectural decisions that support Deel's mission of transforming global workforce management.

What you'll do

Technical Leadership: Identify and prioritize high-impact technical and product problems across the engineering team

System Design: Design and guide scalable backend and data systems with a focus on efficiency, reliability, and performance

Architectural Strategy: Own architectural decisions across data, services, and system boundaries, ensuring optimal system design

Team Collaboration: Lead execution through influence, partner with Product team, and drive technical work aligned with business outcomes

What we look for

Technical

Database ExpertiseStrong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, query optimization, indexing strategies, and concurrency control

Distributed SystemsDeep understanding of microservices, queues, message brokers, load balancing, and end-to-end system design

Backend TechnologiesProficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, OOP principles, and clean design patterns

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field

Experience

Technical LeadershipProven experience in leading technical teams, driving architectural decisions, and scaling impact through others

System DesignDemonstrated ability to design complex, scalable systems with a focus on performance and business impact
