Summary

Hopper is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to build and evolve their security infrastructure, focusing on application security, vulnerability management, and innovative AI-driven security tooling. The ideal candidate will create automated security systems that integrate seamlessly into development workflows, emphasizing proactive security practices and intelligent threat prevention.

What you'll do

Vulnerability Management: Evolve and manage comprehensive vulnerability management program focusing on application security
Security Tooling: Build and maintain security tools that integrate directly into CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows
AI-Driven Security: Leverage AI tools to accelerate code writing, automate security analyses, and build intelligent security systems
Telemetry Optimization: Assess and improve security telemetry across system infrastructure
Security Culture: Work directly with engineering teams to promote secure development practices through tooling and defaults

What we look for

Technical

Security ExpertiseMinimum 5 years of software/platform engineering with strong application security background
Cloud ProficiencyDemonstrated experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably GCP/GKE
Automation SkillsProven ability to create tools that automate repetitive security tasks

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field preferred
Security CertificationsRelevant security certifications (CISSP, CompTIA Security+) are a plus

Experience

Vulnerability ManagementComprehensive experience in managing and mitigating security risks
Security Tool DevelopmentTrack record of building production-ready security tools and systems

Skills

Required skills

Application SecurityDeep understanding of vulnerability management, CVE analysis, and secure software development lifecycle
Cloud InfrastructureHands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly GCP/GKE
Security ToolingAbility to design and build production-quality security automation tools
CI/CD Security IntegrationExperience integrating security practices directly into development pipelines
