Summary

Hopper is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to build and evolve their application security infrastructure, focusing on creating automated, AI-enhanced security tools that integrate seamlessly into development workflows. The ideal candidate will proactively design systems that make security effortless and comprehensive across the entire software development lifecycle.

What you'll do

Vulnerability Management: Own and evolve the company's vulnerability management program, focusing on comprehensive application security covering container images, dependencies, code scanning, and runtime detection
Security Tooling: Build and maintain security tools that integrate directly into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automated and seamless security processes
AI-Driven Security: Leverage AI extensively to accelerate code writing, automate complex analyses, and build intelligent security tooling
Telemetry Optimization: Assess and improve the organization's utilization of security-related system telemetry
Secure Development Advocacy: Work directly with engineering teams to promote secure development practices by creating tools and defaults that simplify secure implementation

Technical

ProgrammingAbility to design, build, and maintain production-quality security tools
Cloud TechnologiesProficiency with cloud infrastructure, specifically GCP/GKE
Security AnalysisDeep understanding of CVEs, dependency risks, and container security

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Security EngineeringMinimum 5 years of experience in software or platform engineering with a strong focus on security
