The role

Summary

Pylon seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to drive customer migrations and support operations, combining technical expertise with customer-facing problem-solving in an innovative B2B post-sales support platform. The ideal candidate will automate processes, guide customer implementations, and become a deep product expert while managing multiple customer migrations simultaneously.

What you'll do

Customer Migration Management: Lead end-to-end customer migrations from legacy support systems to Pylon, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption
Technical Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve complex customer implementation challenges, providing expert guidance on platform capabilities
Process Automation: Identify repetitive tasks and develop automated solutions to improve efficiency and scalability of customer onboarding
Pre-Sales Support: Contribute to sales efforts by providing technical expertise and demonstrating potential solutions during customer acquisition process
Product Improvement: Continuously analyze customer workflows and provide strategic recommendations for product enhancements and feature development

What we look for

Technical

Systems Migration ExpertiseDeep understanding of customer support platforms like Zendesk, Intercom, and similar enterprise solutions
Process Automation SkillsStrong ability to identify inefficiencies and develop streamlined, repeatable technical solutions

Education

Technical DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Software Engineering BackgroundProven experience as a Software Engineer or Forward Deployed Engineer with customer-facing technical roles
Customer Onboarding ExperienceDemonstrated track record of successfully managing complex customer implementations and migrations

Customer CommunicationExceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts
Problem-SolvingAdvanced analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical challenges quickly and effectively
