The role

Summary

Pylon is seeking a Security Software Engineer to build and enhance critical security infrastructure for their B2B post-sales support platform. The ideal candidate will lead security feature development, compliance programs, and customer-facing security initiatives while working closely with a high-growth startup backed by top-tier venture capital firms.

What you'll do

Security Feature Development: Build comprehensive security features including audit logging, role-based access control (RBAC), SCIM, and SAML integration
Compliance Management: Lead and execute security review processes including SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and bug bounty program management
Customer Security Engagement: Participate in pre- and post-sales conversations as the primary security stakeholder, explaining technical security decisions
Security Governance: Implement and maintain security guardrails while enabling rapid product development and innovation
End-to-End Project Ownership: Manage security-related projects from initial customer request through design and final implementation

Technical

Security Feature ImplementationProven experience building and shipping security features in enterprise software environments
Compliance ExpertiseExperience running security and compliance programs in startup or fast-moving technology companies
Technical CommunicationStrong ability to explain complex technical security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Education

Cybersecurity DegreeBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Security EngineeringDemonstrated track record of implementing security controls and compliance frameworks
Startup ExperiencePrior work in high-growth technology startups with a focus on security and product development
