The role

Summary

Ramp is seeking a Business Systems Engineer to focus on Salesforce development and system integrations within their growth engineering team. The role involves designing scalable business systems architecture, developing Salesforce applications using Apex and LWC, and building integrations across their GTM stack including Python-based applications, Workato, and various sales tools.

What you'll do

Salesforce Platform Development: Design, develop, test and deploy applications on Salesforce.com platform using Apex, LWC, and Flows
System Integration Architecture: Design and implement integrations within GTM systems and with products utilizing Python-based applications
iPaaS Solution Development: Develop and maintain solutions on integration platforms including homegrown systems, Workato, and Clay
Technical Documentation: Write and communicate technical specifications including architecture diagrams, data model diagrams, process flows, and sequence diagrams
Full-Stack Contribution: Contribute across the entire technology stack including Salesforce, Outreach, Workato, Python integrations, HubSpot, Segment, DBT, Retool, and LeanData
Code Quality Assurance: Participate in code reviews, on-call rotation, build issue resolution, and technical ideation with the team
CRM Data Management: Work with lead, contact, account, opportunity management, and campaign management systems

Salesforce Development StackStrong experience with Apex, Visualforce, Aura, Triggers, and Lightning Web Components
Programming LanguagesWorking knowledge of Python and Node.js for integration development
API IntegrationStrong knowledge of APIs, integrations, synchronous/asynchronous methods, and streaming APIs
Version ControlSolid understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies, and experience with GitHub/Bitbucket
CI/CD KnowledgeUnderstanding of continuous integration and deployment processes
Data Pipeline ExperienceWorking knowledge of data pipeline architecture and implementation
Testing Best PracticesExperience with unit testing, code coverage requirements, and positive/negative scenario testing

Education

Technical DegreeBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Experience

CRM OperationsExperience with lead, contact, account, opportunity, and campaign management systems
GTM StackFamiliarity with go-to-market tools beyond Salesforce including HubSpot, Outreach, Gong, Momentum, LeanData, CPQ
Salesforce GovernanceUnderstanding of Salesforce governance limits, best practices, and platform constraints
Architectural PatternsKnowledge of publish/subscribe design patterns and distributed system architecture
