The role

Summary

Ramp is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in FedRAMP Infrastructure to lead the evolution of government-compliant cloud infrastructure. This role combines deep technical expertise in AWS, Terraform, and container orchestration with FedRAMP compliance requirements, working cross-functionally to build secure, scalable infrastructure for government environments.

What you'll do

Infrastructure Architecture Leadership: Influence the evolution of Ramp's infrastructure to support government environments and FedRAMP compliance requirements
Cross-Domain Infrastructure Development: Work across infrastructure domains to contribute to database, real-time queue, and container orchestration infrastructure while ensuring viability in secure environments
Cloud-Native Technology Implementation: Collaborate across engineering organization to introduce and scale best practices with technologies like Cloudflare, Amazon ALB, Service Discovery, ECS/EKS, Celery, Kafka, and PostgreSQL
Infrastructure Automation: Build abstractions within Terraform to simplify architecture and increase developer velocity and ownership
Performance Optimization: Find solutions to Ramp's scaling, performance, and low-latency challenges in government-compliant environments
Production Support: Participate in on-call rotation to address critical production events and maintain system reliability
Technical Mentorship: Mentor other engineers and contribute to building a high-performing, inclusive engineering culture
Compliance Management: Ensure all infrastructure changes meet FedRAMP security standards and regulatory requirements

Cloud Infrastructure ExperienceMinimum 6 years shipping high-quality architectures for critical systems
Cloud Platform ExpertiseProduction experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure with emphasis on AWS for FedRAMP environments
Infrastructure-as-Code ProficiencyExpertise in production deployment of Terraform for infrastructure automation
Programming Language ProficiencyStrong skills in object-oriented programming languages like Python, Go, or Java

Education
