The role

Summary

Ashby is seeking a Design Engineer who can seamlessly blend design and engineering skills to enhance their talent acquisition software. The ideal candidate will solve complex design challenges, improve the design system, and contribute to building intelligent, user-centric product experiences for talent acquisition teams.

What you'll do

Design System Enhancement: Expand and improve the company's in-house design system by creating flexible, composable components that enable other engineers to build custom interfaces
Product Design and Implementation: Design and build comprehensive product experiences, from initial wireframing to full implementation, focusing on user-centric solutions
Cross-functional Design Collaboration: Work closely with product and engineering teams to improve design quality, information hierarchy, and user experience across the Ashby platform
Customer-Driven Design: Engage directly with customers to understand their needs, prototype new flows, and implement design solutions that enhance product usability

What we look for

Technical

Frontend DevelopmentStrong skills in building responsive, interactive web interfaces using modern web technologies
Design ToolsProficiency in design tools like Figma for creating wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications
Component DesignExperience creating modular, reusable component systems that can be easily integrated across different parts of an application

Education

Computer Science or DesignBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field preferred

Experience

Design EngineeringProven track record of combining design and engineering skills to create comprehensive product solutions
Product DesignExperience in designing user interfaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and functionally robust
