The role

Summary

Ashby is seeking a Design Engineer who can seamlessly blend design and engineering skills to enhance their talent acquisition platform. The ideal candidate will improve the company's design system, develop innovative user interfaces, and contribute to creating powerful, user-centric software solutions for talent acquisition teams.

What you'll do

Design System Enhancement: Expand and refine the in-house design system by creating flexible, composable components that enable other engineers to build custom interface elements
User Interface Development: Redesign and implement user interfaces with a focus on improving usability, information hierarchy, and user experience across web and mobile platforms
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product and engineering teams to develop innovative solutions that improve the productivity of talent acquisition professionals
Product Prototyping: Create comprehensive prototypes that demonstrate design concepts, using actual logic and data to validate and refine interface solutions

What we look for

Technical

Frontend DevelopmentStrong skills in building responsive and interactive web interfaces using modern web technologies
Design ToolsProficiency in design tools like Figma and ability to translate design concepts into functional code

Education

Computer Science or Related FieldBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

Design Engineering3-5 years of experience in roles that combine design and engineering skills

ReactStrong proficiency in React for building interactive web interfaces
TypeScriptAdvanced knowledge of TypeScript for type-safe frontend and backend development

GraphQLExperience with GraphQL API development and integration
