Summary

Ashby is seeking a Design Engineer who can seamlessly blend design and engineering skills to solve complex product challenges. The role offers a unique opportunity to work on innovative talent acquisition software, with full ownership of projects and the ability to design and implement solutions across the entire product development lifecycle.

What you'll do

Design System Enhancement: Expand and improve the company's in-house design system by creating flexible, composable components that enable other engineers to build custom interfaces
Product Design and Implementation: Redesign and implement user interfaces, leveraging both design skills and coding capabilities to create intuitive and powerful software solutions
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product and design teams to research customer needs, create wireframes, and implement comprehensive design solutions
User Experience Optimization: Improve information hierarchy and user interface scannability to enhance product usability and user productivity

What we look for

Technical

Design ToolsProficiency in design tools like Figma for creating wireframes and design prototypes
Frontend DevelopmentStrong skills in implementing design systems and translating design concepts into functional code

Education

Computer Science or DesignBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, or related field preferred, with demonstrated ability to bridge design and engineering

Experience

Design EngineeringProven experience in roles that combine design and software engineering, with a portfolio demonstrating both skills
Product DesignExperience in creating and implementing design systems, with a focus on creating scalable and flexible component libraries
