The role

Summary

Ashby is seeking a Staff-level Engineer who can design and build software, with a unique role that combines frontend engineering and design system expertise. The ideal candidate will tackle challenging design problems, contribute to the design system, and help improve product interfaces while working remotely across the Americas.

What you'll do

Design System Enhancement: Expand and improve the company's in-house design system
Product Design and Implementation: Redesign and implement user interfaces across web and mobile platforms
User-Centric Design: Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and create intuitive interfaces
Technical Mentorship: Provide design and implementation guidance to other engineers
Component Development: Build flexible, composable UI components that enable other engineers to create custom interfaces

What we look for

Technical

Frontend DevelopmentMinimum 5 years of full-time experience as a frontend engineer or evenly split between frontend and design
Design System ExpertiseSignificant contributions to or leadership in design system development
Component DesignAbility to create flexible, composable UI components

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred

Experience

Staff-Level EngineeringProven track record of staff-level contributions in software engineering
Design-Engineering HybridExperience bridging design and engineering disciplines
Product CollaborationExperience working directly with users and translating their needs into software solutions
