The role

Summary

Ashby is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for its Product Engineering team in Europe, focusing on building innovative talent acquisition software. The role offers extensive product ownership, minimal process, and the opportunity to solve complex technical challenges while directly impacting customer experience in a high-growth startup environment.

What you'll do

Product Engineering Ownership: Take full ownership of product features from conception to implementation, including customer research, product specs, wireframing, and end-to-end development
Technical Innovation: Design and implement complex software solutions that solve critical challenges in talent acquisition workflows
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders across product, design, and engineering to drive feature development and system improvements
System Architecture: Build and enhance core technical components, create powerful abstractions, and develop flexible system architectures

Full-Stack DevelopmentProficiency in developing across the entire technology stack, with comfort in both frontend and backend implementations
Systems DesignStrong ability to design complex, scalable software systems with minimal oversight

Education

Computer Science BackgroundBachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Project LeadershipDemonstrated experience leading technical projects from conception to completion with minimal process guidance
Product-Technical IntegrationExperience navigating and solving problems at the intersection of product strategy and technical implementation

TypeScriptStrong proficiency in TypeScript for full-stack development
