The role

Summary

Ashby is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and scale their innovative engineering team across the Americas. The role focuses on grassroots leadership, managing 3-5 engineers, and helping to build a high-performance engineering culture that empowers engineers with extraordinary autonomy and ownership.

What you'll do

Team Leadership: Manage 3-5 existing engineers and hire an additional 3-5 engineers across multiple specializations including Product, Site Reliability, and Design Engineering
Technical Coaching: Provide feedback on product and technical specifications, coach individual contributors to make optimal scope and quality decisions
Technical Engagement: Actively participate in debugging, shipping bug fixes, and improving developer experience while maintaining technical proficiency
Strategic Initiatives: Lead department and company-wide initiatives such as reimagining pull request reviews, improving interview processes, and enhancing internal tooling

Education

Computer Science/Engineering DegreeBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Engineering ManagementMinimum 5-7 years of software engineering experience with 2-3 years in engineering management roles
Team ScalingExperience in building and scaling high-performance engineering teams
