The role

Summary

Ashby is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to join their high-growth infrastructure team, responsible for building scalable, secure, and efficient platform solutions that support the company's talent acquisition software. The ideal candidate will be a versatile, problem-solving engineer who can develop robust infrastructure, optimize system performance, and enable seamless product development across their cloud-based environment.

What you'll do

Infrastructure Optimization: Develop and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure that supports Ashby's rapid growth and product development
Security Implementation: Create automated guardrails for protecting customer data and ensuring privacy
Deployment Strategies: Design and implement advanced deployment techniques including canary releases, gradual rollouts, and feature flags
Performance Engineering: Optimize system performance, including database queries and infrastructure efficiency
Monitoring and Reliability: Define and implement Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs)

Technical

Infrastructure ExpertiseProven experience building infrastructure at a scaling startup or technology company
Cloud SkillsDeep understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS
AutomationStrong skills in infrastructure automation and tooling

Education

Computer ScienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred

Experience

Platform EngineeringMinimum 5+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or site reliability engineering roles
Scaling ExperienceTrack record of managing infrastructure for products handling millions of data points
